As the last rays of sun reflected off the boundless waters of mother Ganga and thousands of devotees gathered for one of the biggest visual spectacle, gorgeous Juhi Chawla bowed down to the ‘feet of the Lord’ by joining them in the Maha Ganga Arti of the evening. Performing the Arti with Juhi were Siddharth Arora (Raja Bhoj of Singhasan Battisi), Mr. Anooj Kapoor - Sr. EVP and Business Head of SONY PAL & SAB TV and ace producer, owner Creative Eye Ltd Mr. Dheeraj Kumar.
Followers assembled in huge numbers to catch a glimpse of Juhi as she held an ornate oil lamp, lined with dozens of flames and offered it to the Almighty. Juhi, Siddharta, Anooj and Dheeraj were in the spiritual capital to promote a new Hindi General Entertainment Channel – PAL and mythological-historical-fantasy Singhasan Battisi. Both Juhi and Siddharth received a blissful welcome as they journeyed through the many temples of the city. Apart from performing the Arti at Dashashwamedh, they also offered prayers at Kashi Vishwanath Temple, one of the most famous Hindu temples in the country.
Talking about this splendid experience, Juhi expressed “It was such a mystical experience. The entire atmosphere and the spirit of the city transport you to another world. Visiting Varanasi and performing the Maha Arti is a unforgettable experience. The people of Kashi are extremely warm and I look forward to visiting Varanasi again with my entire family. I am happy to be associated with PAL, a channel that showcases content which empowers women while preserving their responsibilities towards the other facets of their life.”
An extremely elated Siddharth, who hails from Varanasi added, “I have grown up in Varanasi. The serenity that this city offers has always connected me to my spiritual side. The Ganga Aarti at Dasashwamedha Ghat is a sight to behold. I am extremely thankful to PAL for giving me this chance.”
Anooj Kapoor - Sr. EVP and Business Head of SONY PAL & SAB TV said “People from all across throng the shores of the Ganges only to catch a glimpse of this wonderful sight called Ganga Aarti. It is a wonderful feeling to watch people from different states, countries and beliefs create the confluence of faith, cultures and traditions. I am feeling absolutely blessed to partake in this ritual and join the Pal celebrations here. It is a beautiful coincidence that in this city of amazing mythological signifance we are celebrating the mythological offering on Pal, Sinhasan Battisi.”
Dheeraj Kumar owner Creative Eye; producer Sinhasan Battisi added “This is the truly the ‘Gateway to God’. If you want to witness diversity of people, colours and cultures in live action, just visit the Ganga Aarti at Dasaswamedha Ghat in Varanasi. Sinhasan Battisis is doing very well and we couldn’t think of a better way to thank God than this. The omnipresent God Shiva fondly called Baba Vishwanath in Varanasi is the soul essence of human-life, without Him, we all live in infinity but he being with us – is called life.”
PAL showcases content which empowers women to embrace the positive aspects of modern India while preserving her traditional responsibilities, familial togetherness and bonding. With the country’s leading producers on board, the channel offers an entire gamut of fresh concepts ranging from fiction to non-fiction to period drama.
Produced by Creative Eye, Sinhasan Battisi is period drama based on the story of the throne of Raja Vikramaditya with thirty two angel statues. Each episode presents a unique collection of these primordial tales. Helming the show as the show leads are Siddharth Arora and Sayantani Ghosh.
