Children’s Film Society, India announces its national children film festival in New Delhi from Nov 14-16

‘Pappu Ki Pugdundi’ directed by Seemaa Desai to be the opening film
For half a century, CFSI has been engaged in providing value based entertainment to children through the powerful medium of films.
CFSI announces National Children Film Festival which will be held in Delhi, from the 14th to 16thNovember 2014, coinciding with “Children’s Day” celebrations.  14th November, is of special significance to the children of the entire country being Children’s Day. The ‘National Film Festival’ will happen every alternate year justlike International Children’s Film Festival. This year the theme of the festival is “Swachhta”
The Festival will be held at the Siri Fort Auditorium and opening ceremony will take place on the 14thof November, 2014 by the dignitaries from the Ministry including Mr. Anupam Kher and Ms. Sania Mirzaare invited including children’s from various schools.
Cultural programs will be held followed by the film ‘Pappu Ki Pugdundi”, a CFSI’s newest Film directed by Seemaa Desai will be premiered. The movie has been extensively shot in Himachal Pradesh and stars Hardik Khanna as Pappu, also stars Atul Parchure as Genie and Amitabh Bhattacharya and Jaswinder Gardner as Pappu’s parents. Seema Desai has earlier choreographed songs in Golmaal Returns, Luv Shuv tey chicken khurana and Son of Sardaar.
The movie also has a song by Mika Singh, who has lend his voice first time for a Children’s film.
The opening events would have several cultural programs by children which includes Sand Art and Shiamak Davar troop performing on the theme of “Swachhta”.
NCFF is also premiering another Children’s film on 15th Nov called “The Shortcut Safari” directed by Amitabh Singh for the first time. Jimmy Shergill will also be a part of event; children’s will get to interact with him.
Superstar Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgn and Sonakshi Sinha have already extended their best wishes to CFSI and Seemaa Desai. Similarly many other celebrities are willingly participating and thus spreading their word in making NCFF an event to be reminisced.
The Festival screenings will be arranged in Auditoriums I, II and III at Siri Fort, Khel Gaon daily, with 2 shows at 10.00 a.m., 2.30 p.m. for children. Admission will be free for all shows however; the entry for children will be regulated through the educational institutions on a first come first serve basis.
During the NCFF selected children’s films will be screened– providing an opportunity to the children of Delhi to experience some of the qualitative and purposeful films made exclusively for them. Several Award winning films of CFSI would be screened in all 3 days.
Armed with the objective of developing a taste for good cinema, CFSI will also organize FILM WORKSHOPS for children with a view to getting them acquainted with the basics of film making. These Workshops will be conducted by experts from the film institutes for the group of talented and deserving children between the age group of 5 to 16 years.
CFSI will also hold Competitions on following topics –
1.                  Painting Contest (Theme here could be Paint your Film on Swachchta)
2.                  Digital Collage Making on Clean India
a.      Art/Craft making from waste material eg plastic bags, papers, match boxes etc (thus incorporating recycle value in Children’s)
3.                  Theme of the Festival competition (suggest a Name Topic, concept for the next festival)
The entries will be judged by a renowned Committee and will be awarded with prizes in cash and kind. The Award ceremony will be held on 16th November 2014.There is also Kids Mela (Carnival) happening on all 3 days keeping in mind the entertainment quotient for kidswhich will also have a segment displaying the Journey of CFSI.
Children’s Film Society, India’s, focus is to encourage National competition in engaging Children’s Cinema on a larger scale, hence we felt it was important to start a national film festival which will alternate every year with the ‘International Children’s Film Festival, where countries around the world participate in larger scale.
