Sumit Kaul.
The light eyed Sumit Kaul who was last seen in Haider plays Justin in Asoka & is fondly called Saifu by his co-actors, the actor believes it is because he likes to play it safe.
Sumit confesses to having an OCD with regards to behaviour in public, ‘Politeness and diplomacy are integral to my behaviour in public. So even if I am amongst friends who are doing casual gossip, I would refrain from expressing my opinions. My friend Vinay Rohra on Laagi tujhse lagan set would call me Saifu because of this. In an argument I would never take sides. I would prefer to be the mediator.’
Sumit jokes about being the safe guy with regards to women too, ‘Just like Justin I am also a Loyalist; a one woman man. Although that means no casual flirting for me, it also means I can truly be friends with my female colleagues without her being on the defensive. That does mean female colleagues are comfortable around me because they feel "safe". On Asoka set that has become quite a talking point. I am seen as the "safe guy". I am not sure I like that tag because it can mean a lot of things but I like to take it as a compliment. It also means men on the set are often left feeling jealous.’
