MANISH TEWARI REACTS on ban on film `Vishawroopam’

Kila Raipur (Ludhiana), February 1, 2013: Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting (IC), Manish Tewari has said the ban on film titled `Vishawroopam’ by Tamil Nadu Government was not appropriate.

Interacting with the media persons here on Friday, he added once any movie is cleared by the Censer Board duly constituted by the Central Government no other agency can ban the movie suo-motto.

The Minister said keeping the view the sensitivity and interests of film makers and producers, I&B Ministry has decided to setup a Committee to review the provisions of the existing Cinematography Act.

Tewari said that composition of the Committee and its terms of reference would be declared soon.

He had visited here on the second day of Kila Raipur Sports Festival where he was accorded warm welcome.
